Sentiment Saver Tip

Have you ever finished a card up and then stamped the sentiment only to mess it all up.  Well, the folks at Imagine Crafts asked us for our "fixes" for stamping accidents this month and I've had some experience with this before!

Here is my screw up....I "thought" it would look cool for my sentiment to flow across the flower stems but I realized after I had stamped it that the "Y" gets lost among the stems.  Phooey!  I spent a long time coloring the flowers I sure didn't want to have to throw it away.

Stop over at the Imagine Crafts blog to see what I did to fix this card....

Club Scrap DT Challenge - Metal Mania!

This month's Club Scrap DT Challenge is such fun - our challenge was to incorporate metal (faux or real) to our projects this month.  Of course it fits in perfectly with this months kit - Creative License.  Actually, my problem this month wasn't what to make - I had so many ideas it was hard to narrow down just which type of metal or metal techniques I wanted to use!

My first card I made using a panel of copper which I had aged with a variety of StazOn inks then embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder.  Copper is my most favorite metal color which is why that was the first I used.

For my next card I wanted to "make" metal.

So I pulled out another embossing folder and smeared Shimmery Silver Delicata ink over the smooth side, inserted a piece of cardstock and ran it through my big shot.

I was left with a lovely shimmery piece of cardstock that looked just like metal!

To highlight the design I rubbed a bit of the Black Shimmer Delicata over the design.

Finally I made some metal in a different way.   I took several pieces of scrap paper, covered each piece with a layer of Metallic Creative Medium (copper, bronze, gold and silver).  Once the papers had dried I die-cut loads of gears from the paper.  They look so real in person!

Here's the inside of that card...
Love the stamps included in this kit.  The license plate kit is awesome!

Your next stop on the creative trail is...

if you get lost along the way the entire list of participants can be found here:

So, do you like to use metal - real or imitation on your projects?

Thanks for stopping by!!

Altoid Tin Winner!!

Well have you had a chance to look at all of the amazing tins from the Altered Candy Tin Swap?  Pretty cool huh?  Well if you recall I asked for you all to guess which theme was the most popular and which state had the most players.

Well, there was only one person that guessed the favorite theme correctly...she guessed that Indiana was one of the states which had the most players in the swap.

That person was...

Ocean for the first, Christmas for the second and IN for the state.
Can't wait to see them all!

..
Heidi!!!

Congratulations Heidi!!
Your goodies will be going in the mail next week!

The most popular theme was the Ocean!  There were 5 ocean/sea related tins, Flowers came in second and Halloween was third.

Now the question about where the most entries were state wise was sort of an easy question because there were in fact 4 states tide for first - each with 2 entries.  Those states were - Indiana, Illinois, Florida and Texas.

Altered Candy Tin Swap Results

Hello friends - today I have photos of all of the tins from the Altered Candy Tin (Altoids) Swap!  Lots of fun themes and beautiful work!

You'll notice that some of the tins only have the photo of the front - the insides were filled with goodies instead of decorated.  I wanted to leave that a surprise for the person receiving the tins so not to spoil it for them.

Here you go ~  Enjoy!!
